BSH3 #917 Founders Day! 3/11/25
An origin story:
Once upon a time in a quaint countryside village, there lived a curious yet timid white sheep. Known for his gentle demeanor and ingrained instinct to follow the herd, he spent his days grazing in fields and wandering the woods alongside his fellow sheep. However, one fateful night, the white sheep adventured further than usual, a bright light enveloped him, and he found himself whisked away by a band of mischievous aliens. They took the white sheep aboard their ship, filling his head with tales of adventure and camaraderie, before ultimately releasing him back to Earth—transformed, emboldened, and decidedly different. What returned to the village was no longer the cheerful white sheep the others remembered, but a rebellious spirit donned in black fur, bravely embracing the title of the "Black Sheep" of the family.
Embracing his new identity, the newly rejuvenated black sheep quickly gathered a group of like-minded friends who also felt like outcasts in their own right. They found joy in running through the woods, laughing loudly as they navigated trails over trees and streams, a sense of freedom tingling through their hooves. After long runs and thrilling antics, the group would often sit on a block of ice that had mysteriously appeared by the riverbank, sharing stories and enjoying crisp cans of beer and orange cheesy poofs, their laughter echoing through the forest. United by their unique experiences and bond, they formed the Black Sheep Hash House Harriers—an unforgettable fellowship celebrating their differences while reveling in the joys of companionship, adventure, and, of course, a pint or two at the end of a long run.
34 years later…
After being whisked away by mischievous aliens, the black sheep gathered with fellow outcasts for their annual celebration of the unforgettable night that changed lives forever. As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, the group set off on a wild run through the familiar woods, laughing and bleating with abandon. Their hearts raced with nostalgia and joy as they leaped over fallen logs and splashed through streams, embracing the freedom that had always been their bond. Finally, they reached their beloved block of ice by the riverbank, where they plopped down, panting but exhilarated. With frosty cans of beer cracking open, they toasted to their heritage, reflecting on their journey together as the Black Sheep Hash House Harriers, uniting in spirit and laughter while fondly remembering the wild adventure that had brought them together all those years ago.
